The company Digital Metal based in Helsingborg wanted to showcase the abilities of their 3D printing facilities.

A rapid design process conducted over the course of an afternoon resulted in this ring. It is made of aluminum organized in a lattice structure where each separate rod measures 0.2 mm. A structure that wouldn’t be possible to create with more conventional production methods.

The result is a ring with a brutalist aesthetic but that has a light enough structure to be see through when held up against a light source.
